Educating Our Parents: Understanding the New Bern District Curriculum
Everyday experiences should drive the learning of students, because they will take a vested interest in their education if they see the immediate applicability. This learning, then, can help them understand and explain, and maybe even predict, outcomes that they will later experience. The curriculum of the district provides opportunity for hands-on instruction and practice, aiding in students’ inquiry-based projects. Research skills are also emphasized so that students learn how to evaluate credible resources and analyze different viewpoints while conducting research.
A commitment to innovation and technology creates an environment in which science, engineering, and math will thrive. These subjects are taught in an integrated fashion so that the skills and concepts which are related are studied in a more natural context. Problem-solving, reasoning, using mathematic models, and learning about the process of scientific inquiry are all fundamental to the curriculum. Additionally, having solid literacy skills in these subjects is expected for all students. view all new bern tutors

SchoolTutoring Academy has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.

SchoolTutoring Academy Increased My SAT Score By 200 Points
My son’s math marks in high school have always been weak so I found it very beneficial that his ACT tutor worked on solidifying his fundamentals while prepping for the ACT.
SchoolTutoring Academy gave my daughter the confidence she needed to boost her SAT score Thank you!
SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Staying Organized
Half the battle in earning good grades is staying organized. Even if you aren’t required to do so for a class, get a binder that is devoted to just that class. Put dividers in it, and label them according to what types of work you have for that class. Keep your notes in the binder, as well as any work that is handed back to you. For example, for English class, you may have dividers labeled Notes, Vocabulary, Essays, Quizzes/Tests, and News Articles. It will take only seconds at the end of each class period to file your papers. When it comes time to study for a test, everything is easily accessible.
