Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Newark District Curriculum

Mathematics is another topic which is deemed as highly important as a core and basic school subject. Children are gradually introduced to various subjects in mathematics, first building an overall understanding of the matter at hand and then further proceeding into more detail as each year passes. Basic subjects such as understanding numbers, geometry, and even statistics are presented to students as games, in order for the topics to be indoctrinated into them rather than memorized in a stiff and unrealistic matter. As the students proceed to higher years of study, this method is continued, but in the form of real world problems and challenges that must be solved using more complex mathematical ideas.

Newark District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The Christina School District follows a comprehensive curriculum, which abides by the Delaware Recommended Curriculum (DRC). It is structured in a way that students are guaranteed to be exposed to all aspects of necessary skills and knowledge in order to succeed in their future endeavors. Under Christina School District’s curriculum, a great emphasis is put on teaching English Language Arts, and teachers are encouraged to spread the habit of reading from an early age. From kindergarten, active campaigns bring parents directly into participation with student’s reading habits and abilities, and summertime reading is also greatly advocated.

We currently cover the following Newark-area school districts: Christina School District.

Chalk Talk: Choosing The Best Education System For Your Child

There are many options to take into consideration when you are choosing the best way to educate your child. The most common formats of education are public schools, private schools, and home schooling. Factors such as the quality of public schools in your district, your financial capabilities to support the funding for a private school, or your willingness to stay home and educate your children based on their strengths and capabilities, all weigh in on how to choose the best path to give your children the quality of education that they truly deserve.

In addition to curriculum and theoretical learning, you must also take into consideration that school is not only a place where we learn how to read and write. School is an example of a small community, and prepares your child with the social skills necessary to face the world as an adult. Before committing to a decision on where to send your child for their education, weigh all the pros and cons that will affect your child directly and indirectly.
