Ontario District and Curriculum
The districts in Ontario use a standards-based curriculum that describes the major subject areas and the skills that students must achieve. A standards-based format allows for instruction and assessment to be aligned to the curriculum and educators are able to determine through test results where instruction should be focused.
We currently cover the following Ontario-area school district: Chaffey Joint Union High School District, Chino Valley Unified School District, Cucamonga School District, Mountain View School District, Ontario-Montclair School District.
Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Ontario District Curriculum
The Math curriculum details the yearly skills built in numerical operations, algebraic operations, geometry and measurement, and data analysis. In the Sciences, the curriculum covers earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology areas. In Language Arts the curriculum describes the development of the skills of reading literary and non-fiction texts, the writing process, and other communication skills.
Other specialized programs have curriculum that describe the expected learning outcomes and the additional subjects tied into the content learning. This framework develops critical thinking, problem-solving and other advanced thinking skills as students deepen their knowledge yearly.

- Elementary Choice Programs - One area elementary school has modified itself to become a STEM-magnet school. This is a model that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math and helps students to get on a track of advanced studies in these subjects.
- Keystone Academy - At the Vina Danks Middle School there is now an academy called the Keystone Academy that prepares students through a rigorous college preparatory program that provides the tools to excel in high school.
