Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Pepperell District Curriculum
At Pepperell’s Nissitissit Middle School, fifth and sixth grade students study various genres and the elements of literature and read short stories, poetry, and nonfiction. Seventh graders become more independent, active readers through reading several classic and contemporary novels and are exposed to various genres of writing, including narratives, creative writing, and literary analysis. In fifth grade math, students learn various concepts in the areas of operations and algebraic thinking, number and operations in base ten, fractions, measurement and data, and geometry.
In sixth grade, students become exposed to ratios and proportions, expressions and equations, and statistics and probability. These concepts are all enhanced in seventh and eighth grade, with eighth graders beginning to look at functions. To help students with their math work, the school posts complete curricula, grade-by-grade reference sheets, tips to helping a child succeed in math, and steps to solving word problems. The school also posts grade-by-grade curricular information for social studies and science as well as guides for the special content areas.

SchoolTutoring Academy Increased My SAT Score By 200 Points
My son’s math marks in high school have always been weak so I found it very beneficial that his ACT tutor worked on solidifying his fundamentals while prepping for the ACT.
SchoolTutoring Academy gave my daughter the confidence she needed to boost her SAT score Thank you!
SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Resources for Budding Astronomers
Teachers are generally very creative people, but sometimes, a topic may stump a teacher, and he/she cannot think of any engaging lessons or activities for the class. The website Teachers Pay Teachers gives educators access to high-quality educational materials for a price. This way, teachers can get the materials they need while also supporting other educators who have designed high-quality materials. The website provides teachers with countless types of resources, including printables, worksheets, activities, lesson plans, assessments, learning centers, PowerPoint presentations, and many others. Materials are sorted by resource type, grade level, content area, and price. This is also a great resource for parents who want to give their children extra practice or simply provide them with educational activities. Teachers who believe they have high-quality materials that would be beneficial to other educators and who need a bit of extra cash can utilize this website on the other end.
