Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Roswell District Curriculum
The curriculum is geared at providing students with the skills they need to be successful as adults particularly in the areas of English and Language Arts and Mathematics. In English and Language Arts, the focus is on learning to read, write and also to listen carefully and to speak using correct English. Students are provided with a variety of reading material including informational text and classic and contemporary literature. In addition, students learn critical analysis skills to evaluate texts and to use in their writing.
In Mathematics, the Common Core Curriculum is restricted to certain math subjects which students learn in a progressive manner, building on their math skills with each grade. The math subjects included in the curriculum are computational skills, geometry, algebra, probability and statistics. Once students are proficient in these core math subjects they are expected to be able to apply these skills to quantitative thinking in the real world and in learning higher math.

I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
