Educating Our Parents: Understanding the San Marino District Curriculum

The curriculum for Language Arts is broadly founded upon the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Each of these are brought about through strategies that enhance analytic thought, the ability to communicate for multiple purposes and across subject areas, and the ability to understand structure and function in language.

Each year, the Math curriculum takes into consideration what skills need to develop in order to solve problems at their grade-level as well as strategies that can be used at the next stage of their math education. By high school, classes in trigonometry, calculus and advanced algebra provide the opportunity to use the skills gained thus far, and to also translate these strategies in other areas like engineering and technology development.

Contact our Academic Directors Today at 1-877-545-7737 to Discuss your Child's Strengths and Areas for Improvement.

San Marino District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The schools in San Marino use a curriculum based upon national Common Core Standards. The framework provided by the Common Core Standards lays-out the major principles of the subjects of Math and Language Arts; the remaining subject areas follow this model. Each course progression has developed a series of concepts and skills that students need to understand so as to be prepared for future learning. The organizing principles are used for instruction and assessment which ensures a clear picture of educational achievement.

We currently cover the following San Marino-area school district: San Marino Unified School District.
