Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Scott Township District Curriculum
The Common Core focuses on Math and Literacy and details a series of clear learning objectives in each subject at all grade levels. Both subjects are broken down into their major topics so that student knowledge develops over the years and so as students take more advanced courses, they already have a range of procedural or comprehension skills which to apply to their subject learning.
The Lakeland School District also focuses on providing an environment that is good and safe for their students to learn. They provide classes in such a way as to make students aware of the outside world, able to interact with others and able to get involved globally after graduation. The District provides assistance and accommodation for students who need it. They provide assistance for special education students. They can also help students who don’t speak English as their first language, providing ESL resources. Gifted students can be assisted through special learning plans to meet their needs.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: How to Provide Quality Breakfasts For Students
With all the benefits connected with eating a good breakfast before school, it is easy to see the benefits of making breakfast a priority in your home. But how do you make it a priority, and how do you prepare nutritional food fast? Getting up for breakfast is much easier if your student has had a good night’s sleep. Making sleep a priority is another conversation, but keep it in mind if your child can’t seem to drag themselves out of bed for breakfast in the morning. Providing a wholesome meal for your student will vary from home to home, student to student, and what they are used to. Providing foods with fiber, carbohydrates, and protein will help your student stay awake and stay full until lunch. Such meal examples include cereals such as granola or bran cereals with milk. The sugary chocolate cereals might taste good, but they likely won’t hold your child all the way until lunch. Hot cereals are another great option as well as cream cheese on whole wheat bagel, or a whole grain muffin with milk and a side of fruit. If you have time, you might prepare an egg with whole wheat toast. In each of these examples you find protein, carbohydrates, and fiber.
