Chalk Talk: Three Benefits of Technology in Education

The more technology is integrated into everyday learning, the more students benefit. First, by utilizing technology for the purposes of learning, teachers give students the power to actively participate in their studies. Rather than sitting and listening to a lecture, children can explore, look at pictures, and watch videos on the topic of study. Second, by being able to see and interact with the subject of their studies, students develop a much deeper level of knowledge and understanding. Listening to a teacher talk about cell division is one thing, but being able to watch the process in motion is another. Finally, today’s students were born into a technological world. Technology is their language, so harnessing its power to facilitate education makes sense. The interactions that students have with technology in school serve as a springboard for future educational endeavors as well as careers in highly technological fields.
