  • Community Action and Outreach - Local area students are participating in a program by the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization to help counter bullying at the elementary school level. Older students make time to be on hand to help out in social situations that younger students might need some help in. Following on the footsteps of nationwide attention to this social matter, students are showing impressive initiative.
  • Grand Challenge - Over the winter, students at one local area elementary school were visited by the Grand Challenge Pierre Lavoie which is a combination vehicle and education center. The focus is on increasing healthfulness in the lives of students; the vehicle offers both a gym and a learning center where students can participate in hands-on learning in health and wellness topics.
  • Expanding Program Offerings - The local district continually develops program offerings to respond to the needs of the students and community. Recently, the district opened up a Secretarial Program and a Daycare Educator Program to prepare students for their first steps in future work and learning pursuits.
