- Theatre Arts & Design Academy - Students at South El Monte High School recently had the opportunity to work on a film alongside members of the Screen Actors Guild. The work being accomplished by students in these specialized programs offer many unique experiences for student learning.
- History Learning - Grant funding has been awarded to an innovative history project that encompasses politics, media, communication and history. Students studying a particular period in history have the chance to use their newly gained knowledge to create an ad that informs others of the knowledge and relevant issues in their viewing community.
- FBLA Conferences - Students who are involved in Future Business Leader's of America have the opportunity participate in conferences with their peers. Students from South El Monte High School were recognized for their outstanding efforts at a recent conference.
