Chalk Talk: Preparing for the SAT Math Test

With so much emphasis placed on SAT scores for college entrance, ensuring your child is as prepared as possible before taking the SAT will ensure they get the best score they can. To improve their chances of doing well on the math subject test, your child should complete at least algebra I, algebra, II and geometry classes before taking the test. Even so, there should still be plenty of studying occurring in the weeks and months prior to the test. Studying for the SAT math test should include using an SAT study guide to get familiar with the format of the test and wording of the questions as well. And the test should be taken as soon after the conclusion of geometry as possible, so your child has the concepts fresh in his or her mind. If your child follows these guidelines, they will be best prepared to take the SAT math test.
