Chalk Talk: What Did You Do In School Today?

We sometimes take for granted family dinners that give us a chance to sit down and discuss with our children the events that happened through the day and what they learned in school? Most times all we hear is the reply, nothing. Should parents get concerned? Or should they probe deeper and ask more interesting questions? How we respond to our children's learning affects the quality of their education and their attitude towards their academic performance and bonds with peers. Asking interesting and specific questions that show genuine interest that involve explanation stimulate the child's thinking and interest in planning his homework and studies during the week alongside extracurricular activities. Showing an active participation in your child's academic career can propel him or her further faster towards achieving academic and personal goals.
