Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Tiverton District Curriculum
The curriculum provide a continuum of increasingly challenging benchmarks for what students should be able to do at any given level of schooling. In the reading curriculum, students are expected to read a wealth of different genres of literature and informational texts. Along with instruction in reading comprehension skills, students practice writing logically, speaking, listening effectively, and presenting. Students are instructed to be proficient in utilizing current media and technology to engage in reading and writing tasks.
In terms of the mathematics curriculum, the key is building a firm foundation of the basic concepts such as whole numbers, fractions, division, and multiplication. Equipped with these skills during kindergarten through the fifth grade, students can move on to master the more complex operations that will be necessary for algebra, geometry, and probability and statistics. The high school standards are focused not only on ability to calculate equations and solve problems, but also to apply mathematical thinking skills to daily life.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!

Chalk Talk: Free Learning Resources
There are many perks to being a student. Some businesses offer free or discounted items and services for scholars from elementary to university age. Commonly, movie theatres offer discounted rates when presented with a school identification card. Local museums may have a free day for the community. To find out what opportunities are available in your area, the internet is a great resource. Often, the website of a company or business will feature details on special deals and how to take advantage of them. Stores that sell office and school supplies usually have member cards that can be used to accumulate points towards free items or discounted future purchases. Several large companies sponsor programs to collect labels or box tops to redeem for money or prizes for schools. Just ask if there are student discounts the next time you are shopping or attending a special event. You may be surprised at what local businesses will have to offer?
