All students need to experience a range of learning opportunities throughout their educational careers. The variety of courses will shape the young adults into the professionals they are to become. The fact that students at the middle and high school levels of education are able to choose the supplemental classes to take helps the students decide what kind of career they desire. Electives are vital in any school's curriculum, because, in addition to the core classes, the electives give students an outlet of exploration and understanding. Being a well-rounded student is what makes a successful adult, and elective courses provide that opportunity.
