Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Tustin District Curriculum

The curricular framework for Math and Science lays out the skills and principles which are foundational within the subjects. Students are introduced to topics in all types of mathematical problem-solving and all fields of science and are able to work on projects that solidify the use of the new skills. In following years, students are prepared to use their prior knowledge to solve complex learning challenges.

The design of the Language Arts curriculum encompasses the broad communication strategies essential to reading comprehension, proficient and clear written expression, the ability to convey ideas orally, and to listen critically to other speakers. Through the basics of independent reading and journal writing students gain in the reflective skills needed to tackle complex texts and express complex ideas in writing.

Tustin District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The curriculum used in Tustin delineates the skills and knowledge that students will develop each year of subject-area instruction. The standards of the curriculum are the exact skills that students need to build a deeper understanding of the subject. These standards are assessed through the statewide tests and classroom assessments and provide necessary information to teachers about where they should focus instruction.

We currently cover the following Tustin-area school district: Tustin Unified School District.
