Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Valdosta District Curriculum
The goal of all schools in this district is to have continuous improvement in student's achievements, skill development and comprehension. The Math and Science subjects challenge students to attain excellence in all principals related to these two areas. These subjects also offer students extensions in popular topics like engineering and technology and allow teachers to integrate subject material so that students understand its relevancy.
The Language Arts Program is devoted to literacy across all content areas. Students learn how to read multiple types of text as well as writing in multiple styles and learning basic research methods for both APA and MLA styles. The high school offers a variety of writing classes from basic writing to journalism. In Math there are classes from the most basic courses to the accelerated math courses for gifted and talented students. This school offers a variety of programs aimed at creating student success throughout all grade levels.
