Victoria District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs
The Victoria Independent School District follows a curriculum which combines their educators’ ingenuity with the standards set in the Texas Essential Skills and Knowledge. The standards clearly detail the learning objectives which students should meet and are aligned to statewide tests to ensure each student is achieving the goals. Through the use of a standards-based curriculum, educators can also identify areas where individuals and whole classes need additional instruction. Beyond core subjects, students are also encouraged to participate in the various electives and extracurriculars offered in the schools.
We currently cover the following Victoria-area school district: Victoria Independent School District.
Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Victoria District Curriculum
The reading curriculum begins with students learning the sounds of each letter of the alphabet, then learning how to combine each of these letters to read sentences. Each year of school find their goals a little harder but by middle school students are able to read books, such as "Holes" to find examples of cause and effect in reading. They also learn how to create a story map from a movie or play. Then, in high school, they are able to rewrite entire scenes from plays like Romeo and Juliet.
Social Studies, in Victoria Schools, is introduced to students by applying it to the students' environment. They learn the reason for rules at home, then at school, and eventually in the government. As they study different cultures, they learn about limited and unlimited governments, plus the development of Texas' government. By the time they graduate they have learned about how different countries have different manners of governing. They also learn how each of these systems have fit in with the country's culture. view all victoria tutors

As students prepare to apply for colleges, they need to be aware that strong transcripts with classes in the best classes will help to make their admission more likely. Most colleges expect students to take Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II. But the top, more selective, colleges prefer students take math classes up to graduation. The requirements vary depending on the school, but Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus will help most transcripts to catch the eye of the admissions office.
