Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Victorville District Curriculum
In Language Arts, strategies for reading a variety of genres of literature, poetry, non-fiction, editorials and many other text formats are taught. The use of modeling thinking when reading texts helps teachers impart the skills of interpretation and analytic thought. Students learn to develop ideas, edit and revise their written expression and to target their writing to the proper purpose and audience. As students prepare for college learning, they are provided with this broad framework that delineates exactly what skills and strategies support whole subject understanding and proficiency.
SchoolTutoring Academy’s tutoring programs for Victorville students start with a free academic assessment with an Academic Director. Our flagship tutoring programs are available for $199.99/month which include regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.
