Chalk Talk: Homework TIps

Are you stuck at home with a math problem or science question that you can’t seem to find the answer to? Use the following tips to help solve your dilemma. Complete your homework shortly after-school so that the material and questions are fresh in your memory. Waiting until late into the night can only exacerbate the problem. Ask for help! If your parents are home, then ask them for guidance and see if they can help you tackle that nagging problem. Phone a friend! If you have a friend in class, ask them for clarification, as they just may be your lifelines. If your school or district offers a homework helpline, use it! Don’t be afraid to ask another teacher or adult for help whenever you need it. Email your teacher or have your parent email the teacher and ask for assistance in understanding the problem. If you are still hung up, complete the remainder of the assignment and ask the teacher first thing tomorrow so she/he can help get your on track!
