I believe that all students deserve the opportunity to succeed through the appropriate use of pedagogy that matches instruction to learning style. I also believe that appropriate use of technology can aid in student learning. Finally, I support an inclusive environment that values students from diverse backgrounds.
I first received my Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and then went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Later, I went back to school to complete my Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and finished with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering as well.
I have research interests in communications systems, control systems and signal processing. My Doctoral dissertation included the development of new techniques in the use of independent component analysis using neural networks employing prior knowledge.
I have over 20 years of teaching experience, primarily graduate students in engineering and business. I have taught courses both on-site, and online using a number of different Learning Management Systems.
Hobbies include music and outdoor recreation. I play the trombone, have sung in several choral groups and I enjoy hiking, skiing and bicycling. I also enjoy working with model railroads.
