After receiving my high school diploma, I attended the University of New Mexico to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in Russian. My focus was on creative writing and literary analysis, particularly critical theory and postmodern studies.
I worked as an educator at DLD Sycamore School for over three years, guiding students with special needs towards a comprehensive grasp of canonical American and British literature and poetry. My experiences there have afforded me the opportunity to develop various modes and methodologies to facilitate a solid grasp of literary thematic elements and conventions.
While attending the University of New Mexico, I was awarded second place in the Lena M. Todd Memorial Poetry Contest. I was also a volunteer editor of the Blue Mesa Review, the annually published literary magazine of the university.
