I believe that every child has their own path to success and the ability to learn in an equitable environment. Therefore I believe that my students deserve equal opportunity, and will receive accommodations and differentiated learning when needed. In addition to this, I believe that by fostering a personal positive attitude, my students will be happier and more confident individuals in and outside of the classroom.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Queen’s University in Concurrent Education prior to moving on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I am currently a certified teacher in Ontario. I have developed a keen interest in special education and I hope to continue my studies in that field.
I have experience working with students in groups and one-on-one. I have also worked with students in special education. Additionally I have experience as an art instructor and a camp counsellor.
In my spare time I volunteer at a school for children with learning disabilities (weekly). My regular responsibilities range from working one on one with students, adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual students and prep work for lesson plans. I also love yoga and practice regularly.
