I believe that teachers can empower their students to see the role thinking plays in the world, giving students material worth thinking about, and giving them time to practice skills and reflect on their work. Student’s success in school and beyond depends on their ability to think.
I have attended public schools my entire life. I grew up in an urban, low-income school district. I also taught in that same district. After high school I attend the University of Massachusetts and studied Legal Studies. I then went on to received my Master’s Degree in Education.
In addition to teaching in the U.S., I have also taught in Spain. I really enjoyed my experiences there.
I have experience teaching in classrooms both in the U.S. and in Spain.
I enjoy writing and reading. I also enjoy sports such as soccer and softball. I have also taken a leadership role in my student’s extracurricular activities. I have planned field trips and school functions.
