I believe that all children have a desire, as well as a great capacity, to learn. They are all unique learners who possess multiple intelligences that I, as an educator, must discover and teach to. I do this by using a variety of strategies and methods to meet the developmental levels and different learning styles of my students. My goal is to challenge, nurture and empower every learner so that they may reach their fullest potential.
I received my AA degree in 2009 and my BS degree in 2011, both in elementary education. I obtained my Professional Educator’s Certification in 2011, with an ESOL endorsement, from the State of Florida Department of Education, valid until 2016. In addition to my degrees and certification, I have attended multiple early childhood training seminars and have several certifications in this area as well.
I taught kindergarten or one year, as well as pre-k and preschool, for nearly fifteen years. I did my student teaching in grades two and three, as well as tutoring in kindergarten. Over the years, I have been a substitute teacher for grades K-6. Most recently, I designed elementary reading and math content for an online tutoring company.
I enjoy boating and kayaking and basically anything on the water. I am an avid reader and spend lots of my free time reading. I am also heavily involved in my own children’s sports and school activities. In the past, I coached youth soccer, as well as served on the board of directors for the soccer club.
