To learn is to grow. The better education you receive, the better the world you can create. I feel that education strengthens the will to improve in one’s own life and the lives of others. No one should be prevented from obtaining their education at any age.
I graduated high school in 1989, but my true educational experience did not come until I was 38 years old. After receiving a back injury that prevented me from going back to factory work, I entered college at Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg, TN. There I received my AS in Sociology/Social Work and Welfare. I then graduated Murray State University in Murray, KY with a BSW.
My teaching experience has been with children and adults. More of my experience has been with tutoring non-native speakers to read and speak English for academic purposes. I have also tutored in Math, Science, Reading and Writing.
I enjoy reading and learning the most. When I have free time, I love taking walks and taking pictures of nature.
