I believe learning is done inside and outside of the classroom, and it never ends. I believe elementary and high school education are the foundations for a successful life. I believe that education is a partnership that demands respect and understanding on the part of both the teacher and the student.
I completed an honours degree in English Language and Literature at Huron University College in London, ON, as well as a minor in History. I immediately went into a Master’s program in English, at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS.
I have been a Teaching Assistant for university writing courses. I have tutored ESL students in my undergraduate and graduate studies. I have been a tutor for people from kindergarten to fourth year university.
I have been a tutor for Before and After School programs, at an Aboriginal learning centre, and at library homework clubs. In my spare time I read, play softball and soccer, and enjoy travelling and/or spending time with my loved ones.
