I believe that all individuals can learn. Everyone can learn the material if they can find value in the concepts. As an educator it is my responsibility to help facilitate my students learning. I build rapport with my students to find out their interests and to drive their academic success.
I studied biology during my undergraduate work. During that time, I volunteered as a coach and tutor. I decided to pursue education and was accepted to Oregon State University’s Science and Mathematics Education program. During the program I completed my teacher preparation and masters degree.
I have previous worked 3 years in Colorado as a science teacher. I have taught middle school science, biology, earth science, and chemistry. I have also worked one year as a center director of a school that incorporated computer-based learning and traditional teaching. This opportunity gave me a unique look working with at-risk students and gave me a chance to work with students one-on-one.
In my free time, I like to workout and play in team sports. I have been involved in playing football for a city league. I have also coached kids in the past in football. I also enjoy the outdoors and like to go hiking and bag packing.
