I believe that knowledge is power; it’s the one thing that can never be taken away by another person. One of my hopes as an educator/tutor is to help my students find and revive that place inside of themselves that yearns for knowledge; to want to find answers to both simple and complex questions.
I feel there is a need for compassionate educators, who are aware of the personal and individual needs of the students. I see myself as being that person.
I have two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Davis. The first is a BS in Human Development and the second a BA in Psychology. I received both in 2005. I also hold a Master’s degree in Art Therapy, which I received in 2009. I am a lover of learning, self-directed, and consider myself a life-long student.
I have experience teaching children/adolescents, which includes planning daily lessons that were fun but educational.
I am a stay-at-home mom who plans on home schooling eventually. The learning process begins early in our household. I am also in the process of becoming an Art Therapy volunteer with a local organization.
