As a teacher, I am first a learner. I have learned that each individual has a unique learning style, and I strive to meet that style with an exciting approach to learning. I draw on the multiple intelligences model of learning to best meet the interest and needs of the student.
I received my first Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Guelph for Theatre and English. I then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Trent University.
I have taught for over 7 years in the public school system in Ontario, both as a classroom teacher and a supply teacher. I have also been tutoring for over 10 years both one-on-one and small groups.
I am a certified Yoga Instructor and have taught Yoga for Kids as well as Yoga for Special Needs children. I enjoy hiking, biking, camping and community service. I am a musician, and have children’s songs written for the grade 1-5 curriculum featured on Television Ontario.
