I teach because I want to be a change agent. I want to inspire a child to chase their dreams. Everyone has dreams and goals, and I believe knowledge is required to achieve them. I feel that intrinsic motivation should direct learning because when people are passionate about things, there is never a question of why. As a math teacher, I want to develop skills in my students that promote lifelong learning.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education in 2005. I have attended numerous professional development classes, seminars, and educational conferences in order to stay abreast of new strategies and methods. I just recently began working on my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction this past summer, June 2013. I am expected to complete the program in May 2015.
I have almost 10 years of teaching/ tutoring experience.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with family. I also like to stay enriched, so I often take free courses online.
