Get Your Child Ready for the VTCAP
SchoolTutoring Academy’s VTCAP Tutoring Programs start with an ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT with an Academic Director. This assessment informs your child’s VTCAP tutor about their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses so the tutoring program can be tailored to their specific needs. Our VTCAP Tutoring Program includes regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

Understanding
the VTCAP
Vermont state testing begins in 3rd grade as part of the Vermont Comprehensive Assessment Program (VTCAP). From 3rd-8th grade, students complete tests annually in ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 5th and 8th grade students take a Science assessment. Once in high school, students must complete a final VTCAP assessment in ELA and Mathematics test in 9th grade, in addition to a final Science assessment in 11th grade. The Multi-State Alternate Assessment (MSAA) also exists for students with severe cognitive disabilities. For more information on the VTCAP you can visit the Vermont Government website.
