Milford District and Curriculum

All curriculum in Milford School District is structured around the Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System (DCAS). Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Milford District Curriculum

Mathematics is taught from kindergarten, and children are taught in a way that ensures they are confident about their mathematical
skills. No child is left feeling that they are not capable of learning and implementing mathematical skills, as teachers use a variety
of methods to teach each concept so all learning styles are encompassed. This method is extended well into high school, so that
students will graduate with all the skills necessary in mathematics.

The English Language Arts curriculum is constructed on the basic ability of reading, writing, and good spelling and vocabulary.

for their age and interests. Teachers are encouraged to use national and global works, in addition to standards such as Shakespearean
literature and mythology.

The available sports are field hockey, boys soccer, football, and cross country athletics.   • Odyssey of the Mind - Odyssey of the Mind is an enrichment program for middle school students designed to present students with problem solving challenges to work on in groups and occassional academic competitions to collaborate on. This program has proved highly popular amongst students and is introduces new topics in science, technology and creativity.
