Whitefish District and Curriculum

The Whitefish Public Schools uses the curriculum developed by the Montana Office of Public Instruction to implement high quality instruction. We currently cover the following Whitefish-area school district: Whitefish School District.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Whitefish District Curriculum

In Mathematics, the comprehensive curriculum entails the students to accomplish understanding of equivalent fractions and ordering. The teachers provide instruction on the concepts of taking unit fractions and applying their understanding how to compute problems using typical whole numbers. The teachers also help students master how fractions and decimals are interrelated, and the students learn the process of computation of all types of fractions and decimals and to interchange the both of these numerical concepts.

In K-12 English Language Arts, the lessons include explaining the purposes of conjunctions, prepositions, and other parts of speech and to use them within their writing. The use of perfect verb tenses to represent and communicate times, conditions, and states is also taught, and the students will be able to notice when the verb tenses are being used inconsistently within a writing piece.

Chalk Talk: The Role of the Yearbook Coordinator

The Yearbook Coordinator is usually a teacher at the high school in which the publication will reflect, as it is very useful for the coordinator to know the students, teachers, staff, and the happenings in the school. The Yearbook Coordinator has a big responsibility, as many students look forward to the yearbook every year and depend on this book to display and reflect on the many memories made throughout their school lives. There are usually students who take courses in journalism or creative writing who also help the Yearbook Coordinator, as well as other faculty members who wish to donate their time. Thank you to all who work on this piece of school history!
