Students in Princeton, New Jersey are served by the Princeton Public Schools. Princeton Public Schools is a comprehensive school district serving students in preschool through the 12th grade. The district operates four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school, which have a combined population of approximately 3,500 students. Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Princeton District Curriculum
From preschool through the 12th grade, students in Princeton Public Schools receive the highest quality education in all subjects. Core subject area curricula are aligned with the standards set forth in the Common Core States Standards and the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Math and Language Arts classes follow the rigorous curriculum of the Common Core Standards.
Through study of foreign languages, students develop the necessary skills to communicate with others, as well as develop an appreciation for people and cultures that differ from their own. The world language curriculum is threefold. First, spoken and written communication is learned in the interpretive mode. Communication in this mode is passive and one-way, so students listen to the radio, read texts or watch videos to gain an understanding of the language. Second, students learn the language in the interpersonal mode, in which student learning is active and two-way. Lastly, students build on the skills learned in interpretive and interpersonal modes, and practice their skills in presentational mode

- Princeton High School Ranks Among Best in State - According to a recent study released by Inside Jersey, Princeton High School ranks as the second best public high school in the state. The ranking is based on the school’s weighted overall SAT scores.
- Princeton Teachers Receive Recognition - The Princeton Education Foundation recently launched their Teacher Appreciation Campaign to recognize the district teachers who work so hard to educate their students. The campaign seeks to raise funds to improve educational tools, programs and facilities throughout the district.

Chalk Talk: Organization Is the Key To Success
Students can find it difficult to keep their assignments organized, especially kids in middle school and high school who have to keep track of several different classes each day. It also doesn’t help that adolescent brains aren’t yet wired for organization. To help your child stay organized, try these common sense methods. First, get your child file folders. Having a separate file for each class will help your child keep homework and other assignments organized. Be sure to get folders of different colors for easier organization. Second, check in with your child each day after school. Ask what homework they have and for what class. If necessary, help them sort their materials so they have everything they need (pencil, paper, books, etc.) to complete their assignments. If they’ve forgotten something at school, keep your cool! Adolescents are inherently disorganized and getting angry with them will only worsen the situation. Finally, encourage your child to go to school early. Using that few extra minutes before school to organize their locker, catch up on forgotten work or to check in with teachers can help your child stay on top of assignments and keep organized.
