Students are able to undertake their educational activities in school facilities that are modern, clean, and which offer a safe place to learn and grow.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Pearland District Curriculum

The social studies curriculum introduces students to the pathway to being a good world-wide citizen. They begin by showing students the people that are needed to help the people in the school and the community. After this, they are taught about those that help the people of the city, state, and country. They are then introduced to other countries and other government systems and how these systems work or do not work.

Pearland schools science curriculum shows students that science is all around them. First they begin by looking at different cycles such as the life cycle of plants or the water cycle. Students then expand this study by narrowing the scope. They look into the systems that help each living thing survive, like the digestive system. As they continue on, they find out about chemicals, cells, atoms and more. They learn to appreciate the world and the science that is in it.

Chalk Talk: How to Separate Children from Technology

Technology is all around us today. Even children spend many hours in front of a variety of electronic devices each day. Children are able to garner some educational materials from these devices but by including a variety of activities children are able to stretch other skills. If parents make sure to include a craft time at least once a week, children’s' muscles in their hands become stronger. These muscles are used for handwriting. Story time helps to build imagination, plus it allows a time for parents and children to spend time snuggling and talking about the books being read. One other way to unplug from technology is to spend time in nature with the children. This time allows children the opportunity to relax and use senses that they do not use with electronics, touch, smell and taste.
