Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Pflugerville District Curriculum
The students of Pflugerville schools begin to learn the skills needed to create written work begin by learning how sounds can be represented by letters on paper. Soon, they learn how to write their ideas, including descriptive words. By the time they are in second grade students are able to tell a story of a spider from the spider’s perspective. Soon after this students become able to create songs and poems with personal narratives woven throughout.
The science curriculum at Pflugerville schools help the students become aware of the sciences that are all around them. They may begin by using their hearing to see what sounds they hear and then to identify the source of those sounds. Within a few years, they then take this knowledge and learn how to make musical instruments. Then they begin to study the energy behind sound and how this sound can be represented by sound waves. The science these students learn will help them to see beyond the surface of things in their world. view all pflugerville tutors

Chalk Talk: What Is a Bully?
When the word bully is vocalized most people think of a child with an overbearing personality. They are also believed to be few and far between. However, the term bully is so much wider. Over half of the children that are found on a playground have taken part in bullying behavior. This is more than punching or other physical actions. Words that are used to put a child down can be just as damaging to a child. This last is usually done by girls. Every child has the possibility to become a bully under certain circumstances. To help prevent this action, many schools have set in place anti-bullying rules. Parents can take a part in eliminating this action in their child. When a child is suspected to have bullied someone, or if they have been a victim, or even if they have been a bystander, take the child aside and help them see the alternatives. If this action is reported to the school, with today’s awareness, the action will be addressed.
