It is never too early to start reading to your child. The fact is that the earlier you introduce your child to reading, the more likely they will be to enjoy reading when they get older. Make reading out loud a daily ritual for the family. Also, make monthly trips to the library and introduce your child to the wonders of the world of books. Many libraries have reading programs for children starting at very early ages. Take the time to get your children involved in these programs in addition to the reading you do at home. As your children get older, let the role play the stories you read. If you have two or more children chances are they will all want a turn to play each role. Reading really is fundamental, as it will be a necessity for success in all walks of your child's life. So give your child a head start on the road to success.
