The dual credit courses allow students to gain credits that are applicable towards both their high school graduation and college requirements. These are offered in English subjects, math, science, history and more. Chalk Talk: How to Prepare Your Child for the Next School Year
When preparing your child for another school year, we think of backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons and hand sanitizer. But how can you prepare your child for school emotionally and physically after a long summer. Walk through the regular school day with your child and help them get back into the routine of it. Gone are the days of sleeping in everyday, so have them start waking up on time before the actual school year starts. Also, make sure they know safety procedures and how to contact you in an emergency. Remind them of the dangers of speaking with strangers off the street and go over the plan for how you will handle sick days. Make sure your child has a safe place to go after school if there won’t be an adult at home when they arrive and they are too young to be home alone. Help your child feel excited about the year. They will likely mimic your emotions regarding the school year, so your excitement for them will help them. These and other things can greatly help transition your child back to school.
