The Jefferson County Schools provides an education designed to prepare students for life beyond grade twelve. Students begin in Kindergarten getting a good foundation in the core academic subjects of math and numeration, reading and writing. Kindergarten through second grade students are also introduced to science, social studies, technology education, physical education and health along with exposure to music and the arts. From there, they continue their journey with ever increasing opportunities opening up for them.

High school students in Jefferson County Schools have many opportunities to expand their knowledge. Unlike elementary school and most of middle school, in high school students are able to take classes, within specific requirements, which line up with their career or vocational goals. Students can pursue either of these things but are offered courses in math, English, science, foreign languages, arts, social studies, business, technology and more. ESL students are also assisted and accommodated within the district at all grade levels including high school.

Sometimes Wikipedia articles have source references, however, which can be incredibly useful in finding credible sources for your research. Go to your library and access journal databases for scholarly works. Also, most books are considered reputable sources, and some online material if it has a date written and specific author in the field to have authority in the area you are researching. When researching, write down helpful quotes as well as the source where you found it and organize your quotes in the order your hope to present your project. This will make the writing or construction/presentation of your project easier to assemble. Do your research well and enjoy the process of learning!
