Oxnard District and Curriculum
The curriculum used in Oxnard provides a standards-based approach to subject area learning. - Academic Decathalon - Students at Oxnard High School have the opportunity to join the Academic Decathalon Club. This is a rigorous extracurricular activity in which students prepare for competitions that cover knowledge in ten subjects. Teams of extraordinary students come together to make this event an impressive school tradition.
- Earthbound - Earthbound is a high school age club that offers students a chance to work with other students interested in environmental issues. Events occur beyond the school community and the club provides a strong foundation for students interested in a career working in environmental issues.
- Hogwart's High - For students who are interested in the creative arts, this new club is offering a very unique opportunity to students. The purpose of the club is to create art works that tie into the famed Harry Potter series. Of course, that series was responsible for bringing countless children a love of reading and will be responsible for many other gains in reading.
