EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
The most important two factors in teaching are communication and making connections. Communication between yourself and your students as well as improving your students’ ability to communicate is essential. With whatever subject you are teaching connections with the subject matter helps make what you are teaching relevant.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am a lifelong learner. I received a BA in History from Indiana University. I continued at University of Maryland where I got accredited to teach mathematics and social studies. I have a second BA from the University of Maryland in social studies education.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught social studies in High School the Washington DC area for 2 years. Mathematics in Montgomery Center, VT for 4 years, grades 5-8. I have been an aid in special education in almost every class at Colchester HS these past 8 years.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am an avid sports enthusiast, and play volleyball and basketball. I have run several marathons and half marathons. I have bicycled throughout Europe with my younger sister. I have also coached basketball and volleyball. In addition, I have taught 6th grade at my synagogue’s Hebrew School for the past 14 years.
