EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I love giving students the opportunity to answer the “how” and “why” questions on their own. Seeing a student make connections between school material and real life helps me prove that an education does most certainly apply to them in all regards, especially in their future.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended a public school for grades k-8 before heading to Thomas More High School in Milwaukee, WI (a private catholic school). I moved to Charleston, WV in August of 2000 to play soccer and attend the University of Charleston (WV) earning a degree in General Science Education 5-adult.
From there, I went on to obtain a Master’s in Secondary Science Education from West Virginia University. I am now working on my certificate in administration.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught one year at Capital High School (10th grade coordinated and thematic science) in Charleston, WV. I now teach 7th grade science at Beckley Stratton Middle School (I’ve been here since 2009).
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I love soccer. I’ve coached at the college level for a total of 5 years at two different universities. I have been coaching travel soccer for 14 years from ages 10-18. I also specialize in goal keeper training.
