About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Teaching and being an educator is what I was born to do. I feel each individual has the right to learn and be taught in many different ways. In my classroom, I always make sure to touch on every learning style. Also, I want each of my students to think learning and school is a fun and safe place. I strive to make each student reach their goals.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My elementary years were spent in a wonderful public school in Nashville, Tennessee. This is when I knew I wanted to be an educator. Middle school and high school were spent at a private school in the same city. I attended Harding University, where I earned a degree in Early Childhood education and a teaching license for Arkansas and Tennessee.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
After earning my degree I taught English in China to college students for a year. For the next two years I taught in a preschool. The last five years I have spent teaching first grade in Metro Nashville public schools.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy spending time with my family, running, cooking, and reading. I also like attending various workshops provided by the school system I have been working with. Traveling around the world is also something that has been a love from a young age.
