EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all people can learn and that each person learns in a distinct and special way. A good teacher will produce the desired results while at the same time motivating her students. The desire to succeed will be self driven. This desire, once fertile, leads to a love of learning. That is the crop of future leaders that I wish to help cultivate.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am a National Board Certified, North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I was trained at the largest women’s college in the south east United states, Meredith College. To receive the scholarship as teaching fellow requires a 4 year commitment to education and a constant demonstration of your skills. To receive the title National Board Certified involves a year long process of documenting your teaching methods, thinking process, and application of subject matter.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have more than 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught K-5 and have a special license to teach highly intellectual students. I was nominated for Teacher of the Year for use of technology in my instructional practices. I have taught both Science specialization K-5 and Technology specialization K-5. Most recently, I have been teaching English as a Second Language to children and adults in Mexico.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I love to travel and many times spend months in Mexico, Nicaragua, Germany, and other parts of Europe. I engage in volunteer work while residing in foreign countries. In each and every country one must learn a different culture even if the language is the same. That is something that I enjoy very much.
