EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
The key is having the right tools and strategies for success. As an educator, I pride myself on first building rapport with my students to better understand their interests and learning styles. I then use this information to creating fun and engaging lessons and activities that speak to the students’ learning needs and abilities.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have an Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as a Bachelor’s of Education from Trent University. Since graduating from Teacher’s College, I have also received additional qualifications in Special Education and Literacy Instruction.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Since 2010, I have taught in several traditional and non-traditional classrooms. As a supply teacher, I have worked with children ages four to fourteen in both classroom and private settings.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In my spare time, I am a volunteer leader with Girl Guides of Canada, and I am a parent volunteer at my children’s school. My family and I are also avid campers, and enjoy many outdoor activities together.
