Students in Burke also participate in an economics and personal finance curriculum. The focus of the curriculum is on building financial skills that allow students to make sound financial decisions. Basic economic concepts are covered, including opportunity costs, marginal costs and benefits, scarcity, and demand. Students also identify the role of consumers in a market economy. This includes examining the effect of competition on consumer activity and describing how consumers respond to incentives. Factors that impact income are explored as well.
