EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in working with students to help them reach their highest potential through understanding their strengths as well as their weaknesses. I believe that all students can learn with the perseverance of both the student and the teacher. I believe that students “know” they just need guidance in the right direction. I believe students can learn mostly through comparisons to life experiences
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I began Cumberland University in the year 1996 and graduated with a bachelors degree in special education in 2001. I began working as an inclusion teacher that same year. In 2009 I returned to get my masters degree in elementary education and completed that degree in 2012.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have worked in the school system since 1996. I worked as a special education assistant for 5 years while attending the university to get my bachelors of science in special education. I have taught students from the age of 3 to 53. I have been a pre-school special education teacher most of my teaching career; however, I have also taught adult classes to those who teach for the Head Start Program. I have worked with students of various disabilities and ages.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I love music and art. I love working with children of all ages. I also love to cook and enjoy do it yourself projects around the home. My greatest passion is singing.
STANDARDIZED TEST RESULTS
I received a composite score of 28 on my ACT exam.
