It is important to engage students by taking something they are interested in and tying it to the objective of a lesson plan. This makes learning fun and shows students that learning doesn’t have to be boring.

I have a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education in English from Hofstra University as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Journalism from SUNY Stony Brook. I have also taken creative writing classes from the NY Writer’s Studio.

I am a tutor and adjunct writing instructor at a local college and having been teaching there since 2008. I also have experience as an English Language Arts tutor.

I have worked with online technologies teaching faculty members and students how to use featured of the online classroom. I have also participated in journalism activities since I work in the publishing and advertising industries.
