EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I am dedicated in my work with young people to support them in their learning. Humor, honesty, and care guide each of my tutoring sessions. I believe that school can be fulfilling and meaningful. I have seen in my tutoring relationships how extra support for school work can profoundly impact academic, social, and family life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I graduated high honors, Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University. I majored in American Studies. I am also currently enrolled in the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), a rigorous and respected coaching program.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am an experienced tutor and teacher. I have worked in a variety of academic settings, including as a middle school English and history teacher. I also taught 6 and 7th grade math to one student who required a customized learning plan. From our work, this student was able to transition into a classroom environment.
I have tutored a wide age range of students, as well as students with different learning styles, including students with diagnosed learning difficulties.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am always engaged in learning, as I know in order to be an impactful teacher, I must also stay a student. I am a yoga teacher. I love to travel and see new places. I particularly love hiking and being in nature. I have a wonderful dog who always makes me smile.
