I believe that education is of the utmost value. It begins with the nurture of our parents, the addition of “formal education” and education in the “school of life. It prepares us not only for our life’s work but as to how we should live.

My educational background has been chiefly in literature and the arts. I was privileged to take English through the University of Waterloo, which has one of the finest departments in Canada. It was complemented by a visual arts degree from University of Ottawa where I graduated second in my year.

I have taught numerous art courses to children and adults of all ages. I have taught reading, writing, science, social studies and gym in my capacity as a supply teacher.

I play golf, play music (piano), take photo graphs and read. I have a special interest in mental health issues and have participated in community events that attempt to encourage mental health.
